and now that I've said it out loud I will blog about it...
I've come to the conclusion that babies are not likely to be coming true in my future...
and every time I start to feel bad about that I end up looking up puppies and dogs...
it's not a far stretch to tell ya the truth..
a lot of things about babies and puppies are the same... so the leap from one to the other isn't that far fetched.
So I had been thinking I'd like to save up and get myself a puppy and that way it gives me lots of time to think about it.
Some of my favourites are Newfoundlanders (aka Newfs)
There's a lot of things I love about the Newfs... gentle even though they're giants, loyal almost to a fault, and real strong, and would be hardy for this clime of course.
We were watching TV last night and the Boychild says 'What's a Great Dane?'
'A dog, a rather large dog' Showed him about how tall they get at the shoulders with my hand.
'Holy I could ride it like a small horse' was the response I got from my answer.
I told him that I'd like to get a Newf then I got thinking about it while I was making supper for all of us. There's a bunch of different breeds that I like and wouldn't mind having. A Newf (obviously), a Dane wouldn't be too bad, the Man wants an Irish Wolfhound, there's a few that I like the look of that I can never remember the names of as well.
As I stirred dinner, I looked out to the Man in the living room and said 'You know, we were really spoiled'
(here's where all the pics come in)
He of course looked a little confused because how was he supposed to know I was still thinking about dogs while making dinner.
I chuckled and continued 'with Buck, we were really spoiled.'
Now Buck (aka Stinken) wasn't actually our dog, per se. We were taking care of him for Squasha when he first moved to England back in '03. I'm sure I'll get corrected because I can't remember exactly how old Buck was. Most of the time he acted like a puppy still so it was hard to remember that he was an older dog.
He was one of the best, well natured dogs I've ever had the pleasure of taking care of.
Considering at the time when we first got him we had a Jack Russell, and five cats you'd think it was a mad house. Well actually it was a mad house... but anyway. The Jack Russell ended up going to live with my sister and turned into a major suck.
Anyway... So since Buck was such a great dog, I'm a little nervous now (for a long while now) about getting any other dog.
I know that may sound silly, but seriously he was just that well behaved.
I remember this time that my landlord at the time came by with another guy to do something at the house. It was only myself and the Boychild (who was 2 at the time) at home. (besides Buck and the 5 cats)
I didn't really like my landlord very much he kind of gave me the creeps, he wasn't very personable and was sort of stand offish so I never really got a good vibe from him.
I always loved when people would come to the door Buck had such a deep voice and would bark real low making him sound really really mean.
So I let the landlord in and sat down in a chair and just let him do whatever it was he needed to do. But I had to keep a hold on Buck's collar as it seemed he wanted to go see the landlord. I dunno if he didn't like him either or what but anyway.
As I sat in the living room with Buck the landlord came in to talk to me about something to do with the floor. As the landlord got closer, Buck's ears went down and a low throaty growl came from him, that stopped the landlord dead in his tracks and he suddenly became very nervous.
I had to chuckle because even though he was growling at him, his tail was thumping against the floor as if happy that he was going to get pet or something.
Needless to say the landlord didn't stick around for very long. From that day on I never felt nervous about men coming to the house while the Man was at work. I had Stinken to protect me and the Boychild.
Generally he was very quiet, and gentle. He'd give a bark or two if someone came over but didn't jump on them. Just a nice cold nose to the crotch usually. lol
So yeah...
I don't know if I would really want to get another dog even though I'd really like one.
Out of all the dogs I've ever had (taken care of) he was the best.
I would feel bad for any other dog we got because they would be constantly compared to him and well as you can tell there really is no comparing him to any others.

Would you choose A or B ?
it's a hard decision when having to choose between your heart and your lungs...
that's not some sort of strange metaphor I'm being quite literal for once
most people know that I have a permanent heart condition... just not exactly sure what it is... that is unless you've been with me here since the beginning... so quick recap of that as it pertains to what I'm talking about...
SVT - I have an electrical pathway in my heart (as w e all do), mine is an extra one that goes to no where... sort of like me on a road to no where... but anyway... normally the pathways are connected by these little nodes... this extra one doesn't and that causes skip which in turn causes a loop affect on my heart... so that instead of beating in each of the chambers separately in time like it's supposed to it continues in the one and keeps keeping faster.... like a skip in a record that's a snow ball going down hill and building momentum.
As clear as mud right?
So... there are things... lots of things that I have to stay away from because of this issue. Decongestants, steroids, caffeine, hot tubs... oh so many things. Pretty much anything that by design or side effect speeds up the heart rate will send me speeding toward an 'episode'.
So that's the heart... now the lungs...
I have respiratory issues... the doctor has never come right out and told me that I have asthma, however I have an inhaler and he's written it down on some papers I had to send in to the government. So I suppose I have asthma which is extremely reactive to dust. (As well as an allergy to dust.)
Ok so now that we're clear on those two issues.
I took down the christmas tree yesterday, which has been sitting in the living room for about a month. Just standing there... doing nothing. Just... you know... collecting dust.
Not even thinking about that I took off the tinsel, the ornaments and then wrestled with the tree... yes literally as at one point it fell on me... to take off the lights. My arms started getting real itchy, my palate as well, and my ears... well my ears were already bothering me because of this stupid infection I have in my throat.
Then awhile later I was having issues with my breathing. I was hoping that it would just clear up after awhile of not being in the dust and after dinner I was still having issues. Went to bed still having breathing issues.
Finally I got up this morning and was hoping that a nice warm shower would help. Nope.
So I had to make the choice... Heart or Lungs.
still confused?
In pretty much all inhalers is a steroid of some kind... in order to breathe I would have to inhale the steroids that would cause my heart to go nuts...
I chose breathing. Hopefully my heart will forgive me.

11. Pick her up
12. Get upset if another guy touches her and she doesn't like it
13. Make her laugh
14. Let her fall asleep in your arms.
15. If she's mad at you, kiss her.
16. If you care about her, then (we all know this is a challenge) TELL HER
17. Every guy should give their girl 3 things: 1)a stuffed animal (she'll hug it everytime she goes to sleep), 2) jewelry (will treasure it forever), 3) and one of his t-shirts (she'll most likely wear it to bed)
18. Treat her the same around your friends as you do when your alone.

22.Kiss her just for the heck of it
23. If your listening to music, let her listen too.
24. Remember her birthday and get her something, even if its simple and inexpensive, it came from YOU. it means all the world to HER.
25. when she gives you a present on your birthday, Christmas, or just when ever, take it and tell her you love it, even if you don't (it'll make her happy.)
26. Always call her when you say you will, it may not seem like it, but it does hurt her and makes her thinks you don't care so call even if you can only talk for a minute.
